About New York Fashion Week
Today, fashion weeks take place in more than 100 cities globally, with influential events growing in places like Copenhagen, Seoul, Lagos, Dubai, Mumbai, and São Paulo. Yet despite fashion’s global expansion, New York Fashion Week remains one of the most iconic and sought after fashion events in the world. NYC is home to one of the original “Big 4” Fashion Weeks alongside London, Milan, and Paris, the fashion capitals that continue to shape style, creativity, and culture around the world. The amazing energy and atmosphere of New York Fashion Week is unlike anything else, as some of the biggest designers finally get to show off the designs they’ve been working on and dreaming up. In addition, the opportunity to learn about and support many new and emerging designers adds to the cultural diversity that makes this city so unique. The best place to start your journey is to learn more about NYFW. Whether you’re new to NYFW, or just want a refresher, you’ll find a lot of great info here.

There are definitely opportunities for you to take part in the magic of that week and we want to make sure you know why it’s worth experiencing. So, let’s talk details…

Many of the shows are for major brands and are invitation only for editors, buyers, stylists and other fashion industry players. And of course, some celebrities also attend.
But want to hear some good news? There are also some major brands that have now created opportunities for members of the public to attend NYFW.
Encouragingly, there are also those breaking down barriers in fashion by supporting the next generation of creators. Because of this, there are more and more opportunities to find emerging designers that inspire and appeal to you. Not only are there runway shows you can attend, but there are also many other events, including pop up experiences, happening during fashion week that are open to the public. Again, space is often limited. But that’s why we’re here, to help you navigate the details!

Over the years, New York Fashion Week has evolved through several official hubs and headquarters, from the iconic Bryant Park tents to Lincoln Center, Spring Studios, and more recently the Starrett Lehigh Building and emerging KFN led venue collaborations. While certain seasons have brought greater centralization of shows and events, NYFW remains uniquely New York, with designers, presentations, parties, and fashion moments unfolding throughout the city across multiple neighborhoods and venues.
